The VSA 300 S is Dürr Dental's combined wet suction unit for a single surgery. One unit generates the vacuum, separates air from waste water in two stages and collects amalgam sludge in a removable collector vessel — so it does the job normally split between a suction machine and a separate amalgam separator.
Separation works in two stages. The suction mixture enters a cyclone where centrifugal force throws water and solids against the outer wall; the air then passes a driven rotor which forms the second stage and keeps liquid and foam away from the turbine. Waste water runs through a centrifuge that removes amalgam particles before the flow leaves for the drain. The collector sits below the centrifuge, a sensor monitors the fill level and the unit refuses to run once it reaches 100% — so it cannot silently overflow.
Suction and exhaust air leave through 30 mm DürrConnect Special hoses and waste water through a 20 mm hose. The unit is permanently wired on 230 V with a 16 A type B breaker and an isolator, runs continuously (S1 duty) through a full clinical day, and can be installed at the same level as the surgery, inside a silenced housing, or on the floor below.
